Hope Johnson, vice president of perioperative services at Lehigh Valley Health Network, has been a member of Communities In Schools of Eastern Pennsylvania’s (CIS of Eastern PA) board since the summer of 2022.
Inspired to join the board by a mentor who was already involved with the organization, Hope quickly realized that the CIS mission aligned with her own deeply rooted belief in the power of education. With a mom who taught everything from kindergarten to middle school science and math, and a dad who worked in special education, Hope grew up in classrooms long before she ever joined the CIS board.

“I truly believe school can be one of the only places a child feels safe and seen,” she said. “We have a responsibility to support them however we can—and that’s exactly what CIS does.”
Hope also chairs the Community Relations Committee, where she plays a vital role in supporting the organization's outreach, fundraising and community engagement efforts. As part of her role as chair, Hope is heavily involved in planning the 2025 Champions For Education event, taking place on November 13. She brings energy and insight to her work, always focused on the bigger picture: making sure that every child has the opportunity to succeed.
When she’s not lending her time and talents to CIS, Hope is busy being a mom of three—and keeping up with their packed schedule of lacrosse, cheer and soccer. She also loves party planning and finds joy in staying active.
Hope’s dedication to education, family, and community shines in everything she does—and CIS of Eastern PA is grateful to have her leadership and heart on the board.
