Communities In Schools of Eastern Pennsylvania Expands Services to Six New Schools in Delaware and Chester Counties
Communities In Schools of Eastern Pennsylvania (CIS of Eastern PA) announced the addition of six new schools to its service network starting in January 2025. This expansion, made possible by the Scaling For Success Fund through the Communities In Schools national office, will bring additional support to students and families in both Delaware and Chester counties.
In Delaware County, CIS of Eastern PA will strengthen its presence in the Southeast
Delco School District by adding four new schools to its roster: Darby Township School,
Delcroft School, Harris School, and Sharon Hill School. These schools, serving students
in grades 1 through 8, will benefit from the expertise of four new site coordinators, who
will work to connect students with the resources they need to succeed both in and
outside the classroom. CIS of Eastern PA began serving Academy Park High School in
September 2024, and this new expansion will deepen its commitment to the district and
surrounding communities.
“We are thrilled to be expanding our services within the Southeast Delco School District
and furthering our mission to empower students,” said Tim Mulligan, President & CEO
of CIS of Eastern PA. “By adding these schools, we can offer even more students the
support and resources they need to stay on track for graduation and achieve long-term
success.”
In Chester County, CIS of Eastern PA is also forging a new relationship with the
Octorara Area School District. Starting in January 2025, CIS of Eastern PA will place
site coordinators at two additional schools: Octorara Junior Senior High School and
Octorara Intermediate School. These two schools will benefit from CIS’s holistic,
community-based approach, which ensures that students and their families have access
to essential academic and social support.
With these new placements, CIS of Eastern PA is reaffirming its commitment to
addressing the unique challenges faced by students in both Delaware and Chester
counties. CIS works with school districts, local communities, and other organizations to
connect students with personalized resources, including mentoring, tutoring, career
exploration, mental health services, and more.
