Communities In Schools of Eastern Pennsylvania Honors PPL at Champions for Education Celebration on Nov. 13

PPL Corporation has been a loyal supporter of the nonprofit for over two decades.
Join Communities In Schools of Eastern Pennsylvania (CIS of Eastern PA) for its Champions for Education celebration on Thursday, November 13, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at DeSales University in Center Valley. The evening will honor PPL Corporation, which has been a loyal partner of CIS of Eastern PA for 23 years, providing financial support totalling nearly $400,000 through the PPL Foundation.

CIS is honored to recognize PPL’s decades-long partnership in our mission to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
Grants funded by the PPL Foundation empower communities by supporting student success from cradle to career and promoting the development of vibrant and sustainable communities. PPL has supported CIS of Eastern PA through Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) donations, support for the annual “Ready, Set, Graduate!” celebration, Integrated Student Supports and more.
PPL’s involvement extends beyond monetary contributions, with leadership serving on the board of directors and committees of CIS of Eastern PA. Employees at all levels of the company actively participate in classroom reading, book drives and distribution, school supply and winter coat drives. PPL employees have fostered a unique relationship with CIS at Hays Elementary, creating a mentorship program, championing Earth Day and other school-wide celebrations, and supporting students and families with basic needs.

CIS of Eastern PA will also add three new members to its Leadership Circle, which
acknowledges individuals who have provided transformational leadership and enduring support for CIS of Eastern PA’s mission. Matthew Sorrentino, Susan Larkin and Michael Bruckner will be honored for the impact that they’ve made on the organization's growth.
