Volunteers Collect School Supplies for 10th Annual "DoGood2FeelGood" Day of Service
Updated: Aug 24, 2022
On the morning of August 12, Communities In Schools of Eastern Pennsylvania (CISEasternPA) along with Community Bike Works were the beneficiaries of the 10th annual “DoGood2FeelGood Day of Service” presented by KLO-Events LLC. Volunteers donated school supplies, bicycles, and their hard-earned dollars to help benefit kids in the Lehigh Valley community.
Each year, KLO-Events LLC owner Kristine Ortiz engages in a day of service to raise funds, complete projects, and collect needed items for non-profit organizations in the community. This year for the event’s 10th anniversary, Kristine decided to lead the effort in collecting school supplies for students that CISEasternPA serves. She also collected bicycles that were donated to Community Bike Works.
“What started out as random acts of kindness leading up to my birthday, has turned into a year-long effort to support my community and beyond,” said Ortiz. “Small actions make great impacts.”
Volunteers from CISEasternPA, KLO-Events LLC, Social T Marketing & PR, and others gathered at the CISEasternPA office at 739 North 12th Street in Allentown. Pens, pencils, backpacks, notebooks, crayons, markers, post-it notes, hand sanitizer, and even food donations were collected. All of the donated items will be used in the over 40 schools that CISEasternPA serves in Lehigh, Northampton, and Berks counties.
The event was capped with a visit by Mon & Mel’s Sweet Scoops ice cream bus. Their donation of some sweet treats helped to cool down the group of volunteers on a warm day.
